Founder of the charity and Triple M presenter Gus Worland was our very special guest as we marked International Men’s Day.
Gus gave a very personal recount about a close friend who died by suicide, the reason he founded and works tirelessly for the gotcha4life foundation. Gus knows it's vital for everyone to have a mate who has gotcha for life, a go-to person you can rely on and talk to about anything when times are tough, so no one worries alone.
Gus introduced a simple but powerful concept and task to build mental fitness. Just as you train to get physically fit, you train to have mental fitness. Mental fitness will enable you to nurture your village, create meaningful mateships, strengthen social connections, build emotional muscle, be brave, be vulnerable, and to share, by starting a conversation about the ups and downs of life. Gus' session profoundly impacted the 1,600 students in the CSC, and we hope to welcome him back again soon.
